Bush Unveils New Strategy for Victory in Iraq

News:
Facing mounting criticism from friends and colleagues about the war in Iraq, President Bush released 35-page "National Strategy for Victory in Iraq." The continued violence in Iraq and the deaths of more than 2,000 U.S. troops have chipped away at the president's popularity. The White House report says, "No war has ever been won on a timetable and neither will this one," said the document. "But lack of a timetable does not mean our posture in Iraq (both military and civilian) will remain static over time." The document vaguely says U.S. troops will return home when the war is won.
