Dubai Ports Request 45 Day Investigation
News:
DP World has asked the U.S. Committee on Foreign Investment for a 45-day investigation of its acquisition of P&O's U.S. terminal operations. The request came after a huge uproar in Congress over the sale of security at U.S. ports to a United Arab Emirates-owned company. A spokesperson for the White House said, "he was pleased that Dubai Ports reached a middle ground with Congress." National Security adviser, Stephen Hadley said he and his people will work with Congress as long as it does not block the transaction.

I think the reason that Bush and his fellow
sociopaths want this Dubai thing to happen is so that
a dirty bomb DOES get into this country. I think
whether it goes off or not (as long as it's found)
W and his sociopaths will want to retaliate by
using nuclear weapons in countries that have large
oil resources. This way Bush and Cheney (in
their own logic) defeat the terrorists
and victoriously take over all the oil wells.
These men are lizard-brains, they don't even
think about human suffering. (Even the suffering
of Americans!) Will a 45-day investigation stop
these things from happening?
Bush and Cheny are criminals who are starting to
panick. That's dangerous because now they're
capable of anything including murdering more
of their own people just to get everyone to
agree to use nuclear weapons (albeit "small"
ones) to fight in the Mideast. If this happens
the U.S. could become the target for nukes
from any country that has them.
It's time to arrest Bush, Cheney, and his
cabinet, and try them for treason. But, wait
a minute. Suppose the Pentagon is involved
with them, since the Pentagon is so happy to pay
Halliburton all that money! If that's the
case, we, the People, don't have a chance.
Nothing stops the Lizard-brains. They just
keep taking us all into deeper and deeper
trouble.

Sec. Kemmett and others in the Senate hearing chastise the Democrats only(??) for not knowing about this 'deal' because its been "written about since last Oct and has been "a done deal since Nov" according to White House spokesman Bartlett. (if Bush didn't know, who the hell is he speaking for??). And probably the fastest recorded response by this administration was on this 'transaction/deal': The first BBC piece appears on Oct.31, CFIUS holds its first 'meeting' in early Nov.
(Maybe if the networks had shown floating dollar bills in New Orleans....?)
But the following headlines by the British Business press between October 2005 thru January 2006 proves that the only 'done deal' in Oct. or early Nov. had to be between the U.S. and Dubai, exclusively. P&O was no where near making a final deal with anyone until Feb. 13, 2006.
But Scott McClellan said every cabinet head agreed to 'the deal'.
Or was he referring/spinning to the other 'deal' -between Dubai and the Administration?
Other points:
P&O was a failing company. The stocks have been soaring now for 5 months, and Dubai Ports World was just formed in 2005.
The owners and stockholders should be revealed.
Ded the Admin force out other bidders? And force Dubai in.
Did the Bush Administration, who seemed to know months in advance that Dubai was going to takeover P&O before P&O did(??), just throw in the ports as part of their 'other deal'??
They gave away our ports at a time when the ex Chief of Terrorism for DHS said our port security was 'horrendous'? And with our Canadian borders so vulnerable? And when our lives need to be tapped into because 'we could be missing that 'one' mushroom cloud of a phone call??
BUT THEY'RE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT A HUGE FRIGGIN BOAT'??
But more important:
The Admin says we can't say no to this because -we'll offend them???!!
HAVE THEY REALLY LOST THEIR F#$@^#@$ MINDS!!

My hesitation about entrusting the security of our most important ports to the government of UAE is eased somewhat by knowing that Julie Myers is in charge of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Over Christmas recess, W gave her a recess appointment because even the Republican sycophants in the Senate were hesitant to give responsibility for keeping undesirable people and undesirable goods out of our country to a woman with zero experience in law enforcement, negligible experience in running even a moderate size bureaucracy, unable to keep a political job in DC for more than a year or so (4 jobs in 5 years!), and whose only apparent qualifications were that her uncle was Chief of Staff of the Air Force, she used to work for Ken Starr, she was Michael Chertoff's chief of staff several jobs ago, and she was sleeping with Chertoff's current chief of staff. After seeing what a disaster "Good job" Brownie had done at FEMA with Katrina, W apparently decided to pick someone who would be almost equally incompetent and unqualified for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Concerns over Myers, 36, were acute enough at a Senate hearing last week that lawmakers asked the nominee to detail during her testimony her postings and to account for her management experience. Sen. George V. Voinovich (R-Ohio) went so far as to tell Myers that her resume indicates she is not qualified for the job.
After working as a federal prosecutor in Brooklyn, N.Y., for two years, Myers held a variety of jobs over the past four years at the White House and at the departments of Commerce, Justice and Treasury, though none involved managing a large bureaucracy. Myers worked briefly as chief of staff to Michael Chertoff when he led the Justice Department's criminal division before he became Homeland Security secretary.
Myers was on her honeymoon and was not available to comment yesterday. Erin Healy, a White House spokeswoman, cited Myers's work with customs agents on money-laundering and drug-smuggling cases. "She's well-known and respected throughout the law enforcement community," Healy said. "She has a proven track record as an effective manager."

Why isn't air america speaking out on this Kabuki theater deal. The deal is slated to be completed on March 3rd. It will be a done deal and no one in Congress believes that the investigation by the president will arrive at any conclusion other than that the deal is great for the country. HAH
The deal will can not be turned around after it is closed. So the 45 day investigation is just farce to try to full the U.S population.
How come Air America is allowing Lou Dobbs of CNN to fight this issue with no support?

I'm wondering why no Democratic senators or congressman are SCREAMING OUT against this deal closing on March 3. I just e-mailed my senators begging them to do something now. I implore everyone to do the same. If this deal gets closed this week, the 45 day "review" is a joke, and our ports are in bigger trouble than they already were.

The terrorist of the world, including all of the UAE, are laughing their heads off at what fools Americans are. Particularly they are enjoying a lot of glee over the stupidity of American legislators and what even greater fools we are for electing them. A little tiny country with obviously a lot higher intellenge than the total of Americans will bring the mightest nation on earth to their knees. Why isn't anyone terrrified that with the crazy little would be tsar in chargethe US population can be held with no other outside force coming to our rescue? Why aren't we all talking that this deal is just another manisfestation of Bush's insanity? History taught us that Nero played his fiddle while Rome burned. There was never a question that Nero was anything other than insane. Bush played his guitar while people drowned, and with the crazy John McCain. He surely knew that New Orleans was drowning while celebrating his birthday. Since Bush seems to hide behind women's skirts, doing business with persons wearing thobes (long white dresses) is probably very comfortable for him. Have any women in skirts done anything but nurture him? Don't believe for one second thaat the men of the UAE are unaware of this and know how to work it, including showing the Bushes respect with the cultural kissing and hand holding. The men of the UAE are very aware that this is not American culture and they know that the Americans who do understand will not speak out because the "knowers" are not rascist but do not want to put with the stupidity of people who naively attribute all the physical contact as a cultural difference. Yes, I am terrified. Not of just the UAE, many of whom I like and respect, but to learn just how dumb Americans are and our cultural denials.

Yea, yea, yea it's bad but it's not new or even strictly Republican. Reagan started it and every president since has continued down this path. Dubai won't be the first nation that sponsored or at least covered up terrorism that runs ports in the US or other important places. China is running a large number of ports and they also control both ends of the Panama Canal. Both Singapore and Taiwan run ports and even Saudi Arabia are currently running ports inside of the US. So now tell me why the this UAE deal is news?
Have a look at the posting "45 Days??" this deal has been kicking around for a while.
The white house had commented that they did not know this was going on which I usually believe but in this case I'll point to a comment during the State of the Union Address. Remember Bush had some crazy line that nobody could figure out about protectionism? Could this be what he was talking about?
