News:
In what some are calling the first instance of large-scale, sectarian urban warfare in Iraq, at least 50 Sunni Arab insurgents launched an attack on largely Shiite security forces late last night, touching off a gunfight that lasted seven hours and left five dead. The fighting drew US reinforcements to the area, where sporadic gunfire continued to be exchanged today in block-to-block fighting. Meanwhile, in Ramadi, where US forces repelled a series of attacks on Monday, the streets remained empty, with residents explaining that insurgents had ordered the schools closed.
Thank God!!
Peace NOW
Sure am glad there's no civil war happening in Iraq. . .
Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Co. will surely burn in hell for the hell on earth they have created in Iraq. The worst part of this whole thing is that so few Americans are doing anything to stop this madness. This is OUR country, right? The stakes are too high to sit idley by while the gonernment destroys America from the inside out. I hhave to watch the Daily Show every day just to find a way to laugh about this mess, otherwise, I might not be able to continue to live in polite society among other humans.
People are dying and being tortured in all sorts of ways over there. I am culpable for my silence at the outset of this war. I was sure there were no weapons of mass destuction. I knew Saddam and Osama could not have "partnered up" for 9/11. Yet I said nothing and did nothing. I am sorry to you all and to the millions of innocent Iraqis who are dead, wounded, and otherwise scarred by the actions of my country.

These are the people we trusted, who have the power to do something to stop this man and his administration. Blind loyality or Party polics or mutually beneficial corruption, I believe we would find 2/3 rds were riding along with this Runaway Coaster of Corporate Madness.
America has to wake up and demand accountibility. State corruption, city level, we have to hold them all accountable.
Talk to family, talk to friends, even the veggie guy at the market.
Help America open its eyes. We can niether afford, nor will we survive leaving this group in power.
Stay strong.
Now is the time for all good Americans to come to the aid of themselves.

By pb_trueApril 18, 2006 - 8:50amYou'll never convince the 1/3.....
.....die hard PUDS to abandon the Chimp-in-Chief, even if the economy collapsed around them. So we have to convince the 15% who were crossing their fingers and averting their eyes, hoping against reason that this would work out. It's Vietnam all over again. The same trite sound bites being trotted out, the same rationale for being someplace with either too many or too few troops....too many, and it's OUR war, too few, and the ARVNs will fold. America will lose credibility if we leave before victory, whatever victory is. Doomino theory in reverse...if we just stand up one Arab democracy, the rest will fall in quicky. If Vietnam falls, then we lose all of Southeast Asia to the commies. And they never get it quite right, because the whole con-cept is flawed, from the fundamentals.
Apologise, cut, run, and send money. It's like a bad marriage.

Much of this violence is being encouraged by the US formed insitutions which have been set up in Iraq.

Pratap Chatterjee reports from Northern Iraq on the ongoing corporate ripoffs and the total breakdown of the reconstruction of Iraq; also, the cycle of violence continues with a Palestinian suicide bombing in Tel Aviv on the heels of two weeks of the most intense Israeli occupation violence seen yet; Los Angeles students speak out for immigrants rights and protest the death of student leader, Anthony Soltero, who comitted suicide after a school administrator threatened him with time in prison for his organizing.
Also the program addresses what is really happening in Palestine, and the disinformation which is coming out of the mainstream media

...Imagine what a war with the Moonies would be like!
From the Rev. hisself:
Recipe for love
There is, as Moon sees it, a profound sex crisis in America. "Satan," the Times publisher said in 2004, "is clinging to our sexual organs." Women are a "line of prostitutes," who should be punished for selfishness. "The concave organ [vagina] should be sealed with concrete."
"The women are the problem in history," he said in 2004. "Women who don't want to have children should cut away their breasts, bottoms and love organ because the purpose for those was first for the children. If they don't fulfill that purpose, then they are not needed."
"Woman's sexual organ is like the open mouth of a snake filled with poison," he said in 1996. Men don't get off any easier. Keep pliers in your pocket, he says, "and when you go to the bathroom, once a day, pinch your love organ. Cut the skin a little bit as a warning."
Moon has even a darker vision for gay men. Moon told an audience he'd like to see them removed in a "purge on God's orders.... Gays will be eliminated, the three Israels will unite. If not, then they will be burned. We do not know what kind of world God will bring, but this is what happens. It will be greater than the Communist purge but at God's orders." (No wonder the Times style guide puts "gay" in quotes.)
