I hope we hear from you

soon, Sam. I think you and Janeane should make up and revive the Majority Report independently. I miss hearing from Janeane as well. That was when AAR was really progressive. Majority Report followed by Malloy. What a great combo.

Addicted to gasoline?

For all of these years I have been driving fossil fuel, combustion engine powered vehicles because that was all that was available, legal, affordable and practical to drive on our streets. When Carter tried to move us towards energy independence three decades ago, I figured the only limitation to moving on to other energy sources was our technology; that was until I found out Reagan removed solar panels from the white house and advancement to electric vehicles was stopped.

When I hear the corporate media, on behalf of the fossil fuel industry, blame me for lacking the character it takes to not fall victim to addiction (at least in the minds of conservatives) to gasoline, I have to ask who is supplying the "drug" and why is that is the only "drug": available?

The same goes for coal industry that frequently reminds us that they supply 50% of America's energy needs in their self-promotional commercials. This stands as a stark reminder that we didn't learn anything from the fossil fuel crisis in the 70's and move towards solar power for residential homes. Instead, we have been held hostage to profits by the lobbyists of these industries that have kept our people in the energy stone age.

Thanks to our lack of representation over the last thirty years, Americans are scrambling to find an affordable way to go to work with the extreme limits of choice brought to you by your corporate owned government. The same people then have the nerve to turn around and blame it on you.

Let's get real

Sam

You need to fight directly or look directly for a job. Get proactive and not reactive. I know you know of a place that is truly progressive and not the DLC type that AAR has now become. I have decided to give up on this station that at one time was a great thing. When I try to listen now most of it is either Rachel on MSNBC, or Hartmann. The rest is blithering drool and I can get Rachel on MSNBC. My money is going somewhere else. Just look who they have let go Marin, Malloy, TYT, Rhodes, and now Seder. I am just hoping a certain person will wake up and smell the Nova

Ciao ...

Use DN! Goodman's funding and broadcast model. Team up with Bobby RFK2, Sierra Club et. al., and the Sundance Channel and go up against Hardball's timeslot via public access CATV, FreeSpeech VSat and web stream.

Until you get that together, get a HACK LICENSE or learn to poll dance.

Where do we vote?

I thought that we were supposed to vote for our favorite 3-6 host or is this just more lies from AAR? Once again I have to my 2 cents in about the crappy shows on WWRL in NYC the supposed "flagship station" of AAR which I call the garbage scow station. When are they going to drop the progressive vitamins and NYC only themed shows? I live in NJ & could care less about the stuff happening in NYC. If I wanted to know I'd just watch the stupid TV news. I used to listen to get the news & updates about the government & schemes of the Bush crime family. Now all we get is crap. The new shows & hosts stink from morning til night, instead of educating like Thom does we get dull uninformed Ed with his horrible speaking voice, HOW is this guy #1? Maybe someone from AAR could finally answer my question about the terrible line up in NYC. Sam we need you and Mark, please save the sinking ship!!!! I'm doomed to listen to stations from other parts of the country (on Nova M so I can hear Randi) when I work on my computer, my radio is now on music stations. ARR & Mr. Greene you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I hate what is happening to AAR

I used to love it. Still listen to Rachel, but i usually fast forward through the first hour with MSNBC. It ain't worth listening to 37 minutes of crap to hear five additional minutes of Rachel, if I am lucky. Rachel can't save the TV machine but the TV machine can easily drown and destroy Rachel.

Thank god we still have Bob Kincaid, Stephanie Miller, and TYT.

Unfortunately, I don't like any of them as much as I like Seder. Where ever you go Sam, we will follow. I think my premium subscriber days at AAR are rapidly coming to an end.

Bummer.

What's your status, Sam?

I'm with everyone else here on the blog - the ultimate feedback mechanism that AAR management should be using/paying attention to.

You should be on daily again. I'd also like them to bring back the Morning Sedition people.

I used to podcast several shows a day (I'm a premium subscriber). Today, I haven't downloaded anything because there isn't that much compelling content at AAR anymore, aside from Maddow/Hartman. Do these trends show up in the # of downloads compared to, say, last year or 2006? Such data might actually help management determine their programming lineup.

Anyway, I hope to hear you back on soon.

Download trends

We're culling podcast data... I suspect there's a small downturn but it's hard to pinpoint what has caused it. We're only now getting up to speed with the abilities of this site.

I don't have an update on my situation as of yet but the 3-6pm slot should be resolved soon.
thanks

Sam,

You should get the 3-6P time slot here on AAR. Eventually Green is going to run out of celebrity friends to sub, and this is getting kinda old for me anyway. I don't want a show that celebs use to promote their next engagement, I want a real progressive talk show host and some consistency. I think you have earned the right to give Rhodes a run for her money and compete in that time slot. Your shows improve with each new one, and I appreciate the depth into which you address issues, and think you do a great interview.

I will definitely miss the only live show on Sunday. I was growing accustomed to looking forward to not hearing a rerun. You also brought a new perspective to the issues even though they had already been covered through the previous week by other hosts.

I would also be curious to compare your ratings to Mark Green's and wonder if he should not be firing himself.

My gut feelinjg here

is that Sam will take over 3-6 once the guests they have booked are finished. and next Sunday it will be announced. On the other hand AAR has yet to do anything that made that much sense, so we'll see.

I get discouraged

I have no faith in AAR to make a good decision but there is always hope. Unfortunately the 3-6 slot is not carried on many stations any more. XM carries Randi in that slot. Going to be hard to get an audience back. Let us know Sam

I am hoping to keep my premium mebership, but

if there is no Sam Seder, there simply is no reason to keep the membership. I have my Nova M membership for Malloy. If AAR can't figure out what a value they have in Sam, I am hoping Nova M will make my membership there twice as valuable.

jerked around again!!

go to nona m with randi.

What is up here AAR????

Sam out the door now?
What do we have left?
Maddow & Chuck D with some subbing from Maron?
I am someone who has been with you since the get go and I am realistic about the business side but, where does the listener come in to this equation?
We will miss you young man! All the best in your future endeavors.

Sam support

Actually, I am hoping that you move to NovaM.

I'm finding it hard to justify paying 10 bucks a month membership to Air America . If you go, so will I.

I can record Maddow. Ring of Fire is free to download. Hartmann is on NovaM at the same time as he is on AAR.

Finally, Lionel is the first show that always pops up when I login to the download section of the site, which is VERY IRRITATING (Lionel's face popping up, not the site itself). How the heck did that happen? How did he become the face of Air America? Does seniority mean nothing there?
